Russell Hoyt

Co-Founder & School Director

Hello, my name is Russell Hoyt. I am the Director at MG Truck Driving School.

I am a United States Army Corp of Engineers veteran, with over 25 years of experience in the trucking industry. I also have my bachelor’s degree in engineering.

I have been a business owner for over 15 years and wanted to change the trucking industry through education and technology.

Billy Austin

Training Manager

Billy is the training Manager for MG Truck Driving School – responsible for training of all the students in the classroom and the range. He ensures that students understand what they are reading and doing, earning as much real life experience as possible, prepared to pass the standard Arizona Commercial Driver license examination.

Billy is also responsible for the curriculum installed MG. He has been driving and around trucks for 25 years. This includes over the road as well as oil field off road experience, flat bed, box trucks and oversized loads. He has 3 years of training experience and 5 years of supervision experience.

Billy is passionate about teaching students to succeed in their new driving careers – and not simply to pass minimum requirements for a test. He wants to change peoples’ lives through new career opportunities, and for the roads to be safer.

In his free time, he enjoys riding motorcycles and horses. He is a happily married man of 20+ years with 5 kids and three grand-babies.

David Wicker

David Wicker

Truck Driving Instructor

My name is David Wicker, I have been involved in the truck industry for over 25 years. First tasting the feel of the open road was when I was 8 years old riding in the jump seat of my grandfather’s
rig.

The trucking industry has firmly placed itself as a core element of my life. My passion extends past the trivial elements of a job, truck driving is a part of my life.

Behind the wheel I have operated most types of trucks and trailers. I have experience in box trailers, flatbed, tankers, doubles, and triples, specialized, as well as heavy haul and oversized. Claiming a total of 15 years of physical experience behind the wheel, I also boast a background in education.

With over two million safe miles on the road, and countless successful graduating students. I am confident with my ability to operate and translate my knowledge to others.
